Jeremy Renner, Recovered from Injuries, Shows Healing in Mayor of Kingstown.
Paramount+ has digitally edited Jeremy Renner's promotional poster for the upcoming season of Mayor of Kingstown, removing the bruises and wounds from his face out of respect for the actor's recent snowplow accident. The original poster, released in December, depicted Renner with a bloodied face. Following the accident earlier this month, Renner shared a hospital selfie revealing his bruises from blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries. The actor was hit by a 14,330-pound snowplow on January 1 while attempting to assist a stranded family member trapped in a car in deep snow. After two surgeries and time in the ICU, Renner was discharged on January 17 and is actively promoting the upcoming season on social media.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Mayor of Kingstown co-creator Hugh Dillon likened the show's team to a hockey squad, with Jeremy Renner as their injured captain. Dillon emphasized Renner's resilient spirit, comparing him to hockey legend Bobby Clarke. Despite Renner's recent challenges, Dillon highlighted his determination and stated that Renner was adamant about not letting anything hinder the season-two premiere. Regarding the alteration of the promotional poster, Dillon acknowledged Renner's candid social media posts and agreed that the changes aimed to avoid triggering concerns for those following the actor's recovery. He commended the network and everyone involved for their sensitivity towards Jeremy Renner's well-being.
