Mazagon Dock has recently secured a $42-million contract with a European client to build 3 vessels.
Under the terms of the agreement, Mazagon Dock is tasked with the design, construction, and delivery of three multi-purpose hybrid powered vessels, each with a capacity of 7,500 deadweight tonnes (DWT).
According to Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, the initial vessel is scheduled for delivery 27 months after the contract comes into effect.
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd announced on December 15 that it has finalized a $42-million deal with a European client for the construction of three multi-purpose hybrid powered vessels.
In an official statement, the company stated, "This is to inform that Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) has signed individual Shipbuilding Contracts with the European client for the construction of three (03) units of 7,500 DWT Multi-Purpose Hybrid Powered Vessels on December 14, 2023, for a value of approximately $42 million.
The contract includes the design, construction, and delivery of three cutting-edge 7,500-deadweight tonne (DWT) multi-purpose hybrid powered vessels, with an estimated total value of $42 million.
The initial vessel is set to be handed over 27 months after the contract takes effect, and subsequent vessels are slated for delivery at two-month intervals.
The letter of intent (LOI) for this agreement was initially disclosed in October. On December 15, shares of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders closed at Rs 2,080.85 per share on the NSE, reflecting a 0.39 percent increase.
